RE: This Ain't No Disco

Hi Larry,

I thought you'd be interested in seeing this response to the reunion story. Craig and wife are hoping for another appearance this fall. Any chance?

Subject: This Ain't No Disco

What surprise and disappointment I felt upon reading the article on the Shingle Shakers in the Summer 2003 edition of "Mizzou". My wife, T***** N*** V*** (BS Ed '72), and I spent many evenings singing along at the VI and later at Shakey's Pizza. They were talented musicians and we love Dixieland to this day but perhaps most entertaining were their parodies of songs such as "Bye Bye Blackbird" and many others I can no longer recall.

And who couldn't help but laugh at "Poor Ol' Kalija", the song about a cigar store Indian who never got a kiss. I wish we would have known about the reunion last November. We wouldn't have missed it! Any chance there will be a reprise, say homecoming weekend this fall?
